Defense
Defense sets the Difficulty for an Attack against you.
There are two modes of Defense: Active and Reflexive.
When you allocate your Actions for the Round, any unallocated Actions are assumed to be reserved to use on Active Defense rolls if needed.
If you are targeted by an Attack, you may choose which type of valid Active Defense roll you would like to make in response ( Block or Dodge ).
If you do not use an Action for active Defense, then you must chose which type of valid Reflexive Defense you will use ( Deflection or Evasion ).
Active Defense
There are two types of Active Defenses: Block and Dodge.
When you are targeted by an Attack, you may use an unallocated Action to attempt to Block or Dodge the Attack.
A Block roll [ d6 + Melee ( Block ) ] can be made vs a Melee Attack, or a Projectile Attack if you are holding a Shield.
A Dodge roll [ d6 + Acrobatics ( Dodge ) ] can be made vs either a Melee Attack or a Projectile ( Traditional ) Attack.
Using an Action to make an Active Defense roll costs 1 Endurance.
Reflexive Defenses
There are two types of Reflexive Defenses: Deflection and Evasion.
Reflexive Defenses are Properties that act as your default Defense when you do not use an Active Defense.
Deflection is equal to your Melee ( Block ) score, and it is used as your default Defense against Melee Attack.
You may choose to use Deflection against Projectile Attack as well if you are holding a Shield.
Evasion is equal to your Acrobatics ( Dodge ) score, and it is used as your default Defense against all Projectile Attack.
You may choose to use Evasion against Melee Attack as well.
Reflexive Defenses do not cost any Endurance to use.
Reflexive Defenses are reduced by Pain penalties, to a minimum of 0.
